Pinnacles New Norcia and Wildflower Tour includes lunch.

Our wildflower tour is a photographers delight incorporating the mystical Pinnacles and New Norcia – Australia’s only Benedictine.

The state comes alive from July to November when the flowers are at their best in their natural environment. Western Australia is well known as the wildflower capital of Australia. You can not help but be amazed at the enormity of the flowers.

All this for $140.00 per person.

Our morning sees us leaving the departure point at Wellington Street tourist bus area (opposite Queen Street) in Perth at 7.00am. We travel North up Mitchell Freeway arriving at the Pinnacles mid morning. Wildflowers are seasonal dependent, but there will be plenty of opportunity to see our vast array of flowers and take photos along the way. After spending a leisurely hour viewing the mystical Pinnacles we will have a very pleasant morning tea.

The Pinnacles are actually wind carved limestone Pinnacles ranging from less than 1 metre (yard) to over 3 metres (yards) high. They were formed 25 to 30,000 years ago from the deposits of shell left behind when the sea receded. Time, erosion and the winds have combined to form these Pinnacles. When seen against their background of golden sand, it is reminiscent of ancient ruins.Pinnacles

After leaving the Pinnacles, we travel inland through Moora to New Norcia. Along the way we stop and stretch the legs again on a 1.6km heritage and wildflower tour walk. I should point out that I am no photographer, although some of the photos on our website are photos taken by me, but if you want to be included in some of your wildflower photos (just to prove you were there) – just ask.Everlastings

New Norcia is famous for the Benedictine Order. The historic settlement was founded by Dom Rosendo Salvado on 1 March 1846 and the church still contains the tomb of Dom Rosendo Salvado. This church is the oldest Catholic Church still in use in WA.

There will be time to have a look at some of the historical sites including Abbey Church, St Gertrudes Church with an opportunity to visit the museum housing artefacts and priceless pieces from Popes and Royalty.

Leaving New Norcia we arrive back in Perth at about 5pm from our wildflower tour.
