Visit Weldborough Pass and see some of the most densely populated ferns in Australia.

Weldborough Pass has one of the most spectacular fern displays that you will see anywhere in Australia. For kilometres beside the road huge ferns are on either side of the road. They are interspersed with stands of blackwood, sassafras and myrtle. This is Weldborough Pass which rises 595 m and offers excellent views on either side of the road and the range. Treasured giant myrtles, over 300 years old, stand as sentinels along our journey.

We will visit the stunning Myrtle Forest and see some of the oldest myrtles and most densely populated ferns in Australia. The beautiful surroundings will make the walk something to remember. An easy 20 minute walk provides a unique opportunity to enjoy and learn about cool temperate rainforests as “Grandma Myrtle” tells her story by way of information signs along the way.

Have a look at our holiday to Tasmania where we drive through Weldborough Pass.
