Valley of the Giants, Tingle Trees, Tree Top Walk and Ancient Empire.
The Valley of the Giants is part of the Walpole-Nornalup National Park. The park covers about 20,000 hectares with huge Karri and Tingle trees along with the Tingle forest and coastal heath. The National Park is very diverse with rugged coastline, peaceful inlets, rivers as well as the spectacular Tree Top Walk. The main feature of the park is undoubtedly the large red Tingle Trees that are only found within a 15 kilometre radius around Walpole. This area is certainly the most popular destination for visitors and in 1996 the Government approved for the now famous Tree Top Walk to be erected.
To start off, The Ancient Empire is a boardwalk that takes us through a grove of old tingle trees. This takes us to the Giants of the forest with some of the trees in the Ancient Empire up to 16 metres in circumference at the base.
Tingle Trees
The boardwalk is designed to protect The Ancient Empire from damage with the impact of the large numbers of visitors to this area. The walk starts from the Tingle Shelter and meanders around the old trees and even goes through one of the Tingle trees. This is a great place to visit and experience some of the quiet spots and even to sit and reflect on what Nature has provided.

Next we go on the Tree Top Walk which is a walk 40 metres above the ground through the tree tops of the Valley of the Giants consisting mainly of Tingle and Karri trees.
The Tree Top Walk is a series of lightweight steel trusses about 60 metres long, built on steel pylons to form a secure ramp. This is different to most walks around the world that are mainly built using suspension bridge type structures made out of wood. The walk loops around from the Tingle Shelter and is about 600 metres long with the highest point about 40 metres high.
