From Coral Bay to Tom Price to Karijini with a Bush Camp - Day 6 of our 11 day tour
Saturday
We pack up, have breakfast and are on the road to Tom Price and then on to Karijini.
Leaving Coral Bay we see all these terminate hills on the way to Nanaturra for a fuel and health break stop.
We leave the main road at Nanutarra Roadhouse taking the road to Paraburdoo. We stop at a lovely little way side stop for lunch with a significant change in the landscape. We no longer have the flat plains and nothing much to see now a lot of mountains are certainly visible. We arrive at Tom Price - the highest town above sea level in Western Australia and it is also very much a mining town with Marandoo Mine. I do some shopping for fresh food, as most people also get a few supplies.
Tonight we made a camp "in the bush" where there are no other people around, but also no toilets or showers. It was actually a very lovely evening.

It is a bit late so we have a BBQ for dinner with some fruit salad and ice-cream.
It is very difficult to go to bed tonight, because the skies have really come alive. Very quickly we see a satellite moving from west to east; this is followed by another and another. It is amazing how bright the stars can be when there are no lights to take away your night vision.
Eventually we gradually drag ourselves to bed for what should be a physical next few days.
