Our Tasmania Holiday Package Itinerary

Below you will find our Tasmania Holiday Package Itinerary for your 24 Day All Inclusive holiday.

Day 1: Perth – Norseman

Your Tasmanian Crikey Adventure Tour starts. Leave Perth 7:00am, travelling through Southern Cross we call into Super Pit Mine site at Kalgoorlie-Boulder stopping at Norseman for our first night together. L/D

Day 2: Norseman – Eucla

Leaving Norseman we drive across the Nullarbor Plain (one of Australia's great road journeys) arriving at Eucla for the night. B/L/D

Day 3: Eucla – Streaky Bay

We leave Eucla and cross over the border to South Australia. We drive through Ceduna. Driving through Ceduna we take a bit of a detour to Streaky Bay on the South Australia coast where we spend the night in a caravan park right on the beach. B/L/D

Day 4: Streaky Bay – Bordertown

We travel through Port Augusta and Adelaide (the city of churches) arriving at Bordertown (birthplace of former Prime Minister Bob Hawke) for the night. B/L/D

Day 5: Bordertown – Melbourne (Ferry)

Leaving Bordertown (we are now in Victoria), we arrive at Ballarat for our first tour – at Sovereign Hill Ballarat (named Australia’s major tourist attraction 2005/06). B/L/D (With Buffet Dinner on-board Spirit of Tasmania Ferry ride).

Day 6: Ferry – Low Head

Getting off the ferry after breakfast, we visit Notley Gorge with an excellent walk through a rain forest then onto the Swiss Village of Grindelwald. From here we travel to Hadspen to the Historic Entally House - the most historic of the National Trust Houses in Tasmania. Leaving Entally House, we travel to Launceston spending time at the famous Cataract Gorge. Tonight we will visit Low Head for a Little Penguin Tour. B/L/D

Day 7: Low Head – Freycinet National Park

Leaving Low Head we call into Bridstowe Lavender Farm one of the world’s largest single commercial lavender farms, producing the finest quality lavender flowers and lavender oil, used traditionally in the perfumery industry. Next, enjoy the lush rainforest scenery at Weldborough Pass, arriving at Freycinet National Park for the night. B/L/D

Day 8: Freycinet NP - Port Arthur

At Freycinet National Park, we see Wineglass Bay voted one of the world’s best beaches. Leaving Freycinet NP we call into Kate's Berry Farm en-route to Port Arthur where we see The Arch, Devil’s Kitchen, Tessellated Pavement and even drive around "Doo Town". This evening we join the Port Arthur Historic Ghost Tour. B/L/D

Day 9: Port Arthur – Hobart

Spend some time exploring Port Arthur, leaving mid morning with our next stop being the Sorell Fruit Farm where you will be able to “Pick Your Own” fruit - a very tasty and unforgettable experience! From here we see the Historic Richmond Bridge. Just before arriving in Hobart we visit Bonorong Wildlife Park where we will see a Tasmanian Devil. (When you visit Tasmania you must see – a Tasmanian Devil, a Spotted Quoll, a Pademelon or a Potoroo - we see them all at Bonorong Wildlife Park. We then arrive in Hobart where we spend the next 4 nights. B/L/D

Day 10: Hobart – Hobart

This morning is free time, but on Saturdays, Salamanca comes alive with the famous Salamanca Markets that is open from 8:30am – 3:00pm. With over 300 stallholders selling produce and crafts from all over Tasmania, the Salamanca Markets is rated as one of the top attractions in Tasmania.

This afternoon we have a tour of the Cascade Brewery that includes the chance to see some of Australia’s best loved premium beers brewed in the historic brewery and a walk through the famous Woodstock gardens. Of course what tour of this type would not be complete without the tasting at the end? Yes, half an hour of tasing is included as well. We also drive up Mount Wellington for stunning views over Hobart. B/L/D

Day 11: Hobart – Hobart

Today we drive south to the Huon Valley where you will experience the lofty heights of the Tahune Airwalk and visit Hastings Caves and Thermal Pool. B/L/D

Day 12: Hobart – Hobart

Something a bit different today - we go Crayfishing, fishing and enjoy the Derwent River for half a day. The other half day is free time in Hobart. B/L/D

Day 13: Hobart – Mt Field National Park

This morning we have a tour through the Cadbury Chocolate Factory. You will see the delicious chocolates being made and again enjoy free samples.

Leaving Hobart we call into Plenty Salmon Ponds. The Salmon Ponds is the oldest trout hatchery in the Southern Hemisphere. There are six different ponds displaying trout and salmon including brown, rainbow, brook and tiger trout. We next arrive at Mt Field National Park for the night. Mt Field NP is famous for the magnificent Russell Falls. The 10-minute walk takes you past some of the tallest hardwood trees in the world. B/L/D

Day 14: Mt Field National Park – Strahan

Next up we visit Lake St Clair - the southern end of the world famous Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park that is part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Carved out by ice during several glaciations over the last two million years, this is the deepest lake in Australia and the headwaters of the Derwent River, upon which the capital city of Tasmania is located. We then travel through Queenstown to Strahan where we spend the next two nights. B/L/D

Day 15: Strahan – Strahan

Today we travel onboard the Lady Jane Franklin 11 on our Gordon River Cruise and discover the World Heritage wilderness of the Gordon River. Stop for a walk through untouched rainforest before visiting the penal colony of Sarah Island. This afternoon, explore the picturesque town of Strahan or dare I say it, catch up on some washing? B/L/D

Day 16: Strahan – Wynyard

Today we re-enter the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, but the other end at Cradle Mountain – Dove Lake. We will take a walk around Dove Lake enjoying the majestic beauty of Cradle Mountain. From here we travel to Wynyard where we will spend the next two nights. B/L/D

Day 17: Wynyard - Wynyard

We travel to Stanley this morning for a visit to the rocky outcrop of "The Nut", returning to Wynyard for the night. B/L/D

Day 18: Wynyard - Ferry

First up we call into Mole Creek and Marakoopa Caves where we will see the glow-worms at Marakoopa Caves, then to Ashgrove Farm Cheese Factory before we board the ferry back to Melbourne. B/L/D (With a Buffet Dinner on board the Spirit of Tasmania).

Day 19: Ferry – Melbourne

Today is a free day for you to spend in Melbourne. Maybe have a tour through the MCG and see all the sporting memorabilia? Perhaps go shopping at the Victoria Markets or even Chappell Street or go to the Casino? Maybe catch one of the famous Melbourne Trams? B/(on board the ferry)L/D

Day 20: Melbourne – Barossa Valley

Leaving “the big smoke” behind we are on our way home, but not finished yet. Tonight we get to Tanunda in the Barossa Valley where we will spend the next two nights. B/L/D

Day 21: Barossa Valley – Barossa Valley

In the Barossa Valley we will visit several wineries today including a tour of Pennfolds and a visit to the Whispering Wall. B/L/D

Day 22: Barossa Valley – Nullarbor

Leaving Tanunda we make our way to Nullarbor via Port Augusta where we will spend the night. B/L/D

Day 23: Nullarbor – Fraser Range Station

This morning we have breakfast at the Great Australian Bight where we will be able to marvel at the spectacular Bunda Cliffs with their sheer 80 metre drop to the ocean in all their glory. (Crikey, A bite at the Bight?) Continuing on we arrive at Fraser Range Station for our last night - a real sheep farm. B/L/D

Day 24: Fraser Range Station – Perth

Packing up for the last time we leave Fraser Range Station arriving back in Perth about 6:30pm after 24 magnificent days. B/L
