Recipe for Spaghetti Bolognaise from Crikey Adventure Tours
Spaghetti bolognaise is always a popular meal when you go on tour with Crikey Adventure Tours. It is healthy and very satisfying. INGREDIENTS Serves 4 or 5 - garlic crushed to taste
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 rasher bacon chopped
- 1 carrot diced
- 1 capsicum (pepper), chopped
- 1 stick celery diced
- 1 cup mushroom chopped
- 500gm mince beef
- 420gm tin crushed tomatoes (fresh tomatoes diced works well too)
- 140gm tub tomato paste
- 1 beef stock cube
- mixed herbs (or use fresh thyme, basil and oregano)
- 1 packet spaghetti
- Parmesan cheese and/or shredded cheese
METHOD - Fry garlic, onion, bacon, carrot, capsicum, celery and mushroom for a couple of minutes.
- Add mince and brown
- Combine tomatoes, tomato paste and stock cube. Add to mixture.
- Season to taste.
- Bring to boil then simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens.
Meantime, cook spaghetti in boiling water with salt 10-15 minutes.- Drain spaghetti and serve the sauce over the spaghetti.
- Top with Parmesan and/or grated cheese.
