The Bridestowe Lavender Farm producies the finest quality Lavender

The Bridestowe Lavender Farm was established in 1921 and is one of the world's largest single commercial lavender farms, producing the finest quality lavender flowers and lavender oil, used traditionally in the perfumery industry.

The farm consists of 48 hectares (120 acres) of rolling fields of lavender and is considered one of Tasmania's most spectacular sights during flowering in December and January. The five week harvest begins in early January with the distillation and processing of the lavender in full swing. The air of tranquillity, subtle fragrance and beauty of Bridestowe continues to attract visitors throughout the year.

Guided tours are conducted during December and January but there is also an excellent video at other times detailing the farm's remarkable history and the harvest and distillation process.

A farm shop showcases a large range of lavender products including the very finest of lavender oil and locally made arts and crafts (featuring Bridestowe Lavender). A tasting area allows us to experience the unique application of lavender as a subtle flavouring in superb quality foods.

You can sit under the century old oak trees, stroll for kilometres through the fields or browse for gifts in the shop.

Have a look at our holiday to Tasmania where a visit to Bridstowe Lavender Farm is included as part of your tour.
