Gorge, Waterfalls and Pools - Day 9 of our 11 day tour
Tuesday
We move camp today to Dale Gorge with waterfalls and natural pools to swim in. I cook up some eggs and bacon to go with our cereal and toast for breakfast.
We call into the visitors centre for a look. The visitors centre is run by the traditional owners the Banyjima, Yinhawankga and Kurrama Aboriginal people.
We arrive at Dale and set up camp - have lunch then walk to Dale where we will spend the rest of the day. We walk around the gorge rim and view Circular Pool from above. We then walk down the steps to Circular Pool and a few people have a swim and climb the ledge to the natural "shower" – the water here is fairly cool compared to the other pools because it received very little sunshine.

We then take the trail (if you can call it that) from Circular Pool along the bottom of the gorge and reach Fortescue Falls.
From here we continue on to Fern Pool. This is the area on the Home page of our website and again is a fantastic spot to have a swim under the waterfalls. Fern Pool and Circular Pool are both special places to the local Aboriginal people. To protect the heritage, cultural and environmental values here we do not access the area above Fern Pool but certainly have a lovely swim in the pool.

We get back to our camping area all a little tired after another amazing day.
I cook up spaghetti bolognaise for dinner and we have some cheese and biscuits. Low and behold I also find some ice-cream that we enjoy.
Everyone is getting on well and a few people are developing some very solid friendships. We are amazed once again by the stars, with a few people electing to sleep out looking up at these distant lights.
