This deep sea fishing charter is a magnificent day. I had not been on a fishing charter before I went on my first fishing charter at Coral Bay (quite some time ago now). We trawled on the way out (and on the way in) and actually caught a marlin. (No this one wasn't ours). The marlin was tagged and released. In addition to this the fishing charter happened to be in the area where the humpback whales were migrating south (like they do every year) and we had a fantastic view of these whales as well.
Todd and I had a shared fishing line and the very first fish we caught was this beautiful red emperor. The second fish we caught was an equally magnificent red emperor. After this we were hooked on fishing. (Not only did we have a great day fishing, but also experienced the natural beauty of the humpback whales during their migration). Obviously depending on the time of year you travel, the whales may be visible or may not be.
The fishing boat continually moves from one fishing spot to another to not only maintain the fish in each area, but also the fish "go off the bite" in a certain spot and other types of fish are in different areas as well.
On the deep sea fishing charter all equipment, including bait and tackle, is supplied. Tea and coffee is also available on the fishing boat - as well as toilets. You have to provide your own lunch (obviously, we will prepare that for you as part of your tour). By the way you may not eat too much. Once the fish start biting you will be fishing and not interested in eating lunch.
Once we get back from the deep sea fishing charter, the crew fillet all the fish and we will have that for our dinner tonight. Yummy.
Crikey, have I mentioned that I thoroughly enjoy the deep sea fishing charter? Well actually I enjoy all the days, but sometimes you are allowed to have a favourite.
Do you have a great story about a deep sea fishing expedition? Tell us all about the ONE THAT DIDN'T GET AWAY! Crikey, if you really want to brag about it, send a photo as well.

Weird Fish
This may not be a record for the biggest fish caught (I will leave that to someone else) but it is certainly one of the weirdest fish I have come across....
