Recipe for Beef Stroganoff from Crikey Adventure Tours - all camping.
Our beef stroganoff recipe is another one of our home made ones that taste just that little bit different with extra vegetables included in the mixture. This just makes it a little bit more filling and healthy as you are getting your vegetables included.
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic crushed
1 onion chopped
2 carrots sliced
500gm rump steak thin strips
1 cup peas
300gm mushrooms thickly sliced
2 tablespoons cornflour
300ml sour cream
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup beef stock
METHOD
Heat the oil in a wok or saucepan.
Add the garlic and onion and cook until onion is soft about 2 minutes.
Add the carrots and cook for a further 2 minutes.
Add the steak and brown.
Add the peas and mushrooms and cook a further 5 minutes.
Combine the cornflour, sour cream and tomato paste.
Add the combined mixture along with the stock to the pan.
Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Serve and enjoy.
Delicious with fettuccine pasta, green salad, or even with your damper.
