Recipe for Apple Crumble by Crikey Adventure Tours
Whenever I make apple crumble on our tours it is always a resounding success. For some reason this is always somebody's favourite - including mine. Maybe that is why I usually make it on most tours.
INGREDIENTS
6 cooking apples (I always use Granny Smith's) peeled, cored and sliced
2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
CRUMBLE TOPPING
There are many variations to this and you can make your own.
6 tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
I like to add 1/3 cup coconut too
METHOD
Place apples in an oven proof dish.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Crumble Topping
Rub butter and plain flour together until it resembles bread crumbs.
Add sugar and coconut and mix.
Putting it together
Sprinkle topping over apples
Place in oven and bake at 180 degrees Celcius for about 15-20 minutes.
