About us! It is always difficult to write about your self but here goes anyway for Crikey Adventure Tours - about us.
We are a small (hang on before I start talking about that - who are the we?)
We are myself (Ian Molloy), at time of writing, aged 55 years. I am now single with 4 children who all have had a part in the development process of this company.
Children in age order…
Emma (1979). Emma is an Environmental Engineer with Umwelt. Obviously with Emma having a minor involvement in the development stages of the company we are very environmentally conscious with everything we do.
Emma has played a significant role in the development of our brochures and of course has lent a lot of moral support and suggestions.
Jade (1981). Jade is the person you will speak to or hear from in the company. She is our tour coordinator/booking officer/important person. Jade is also a mum - to son Beau. If you go to the photo page of our website you will see a boy with flippers on – that is Beau. If you happen to be speaking to Jade and hear some noise in the background chances are that could be Beau too.
Not only does Jade take bookings and co-ordinate all tours, she is also our chief food purchaser. So all that yummy food you will be eating has been purchased by Jade.
During the tour I will be in regular contact with Jade who will confirm weather and road conditions etc.
Rachel (1984). Rachel is a Police officer and has come up with some very sensible ideas. Rachel will not have ongoing involvement with the company but is an excellent person to run things by.
Todd (1985). Todd has graduated from UWA (University of Western Australia) and is now a Mechanical Engineering. Todd was instrumental in coming up with ideas before we even got to the planning stage of this venture. Todd and I were on one of our many camping experiences, this time at Karijini National Park, when we first discussed the possibility of doing this. Where we are now has all developed from there.
Todd has done the entire website, and come up with many of the ideas we now have. He has also taken by far the majority of the photos that are on our website as well.
That only leaves me…
Ian (1953). I worked for Australia Post for 38 years – the majority of this in managerial positions in Retail.
I have many, many adventure experiences to draw on including bushwalking, mountain bike riding, hiking, camping, etc. I have lived in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia. The places we are visiting on our tour are some of the most wonderful natural sites I have seen in all of Australia.
Along with Todd, I have come up with a lot of this tour. I will also be the person who “takes you around”. I will be your driver, tour guide, medical attendant, chef (probably better make that cook – but at least you can be assured there will be plenty of food and it will taste good – I am after all a bit of a guts {that may be a bit harsh I just enjoy my food}, ….
Now, where was I after explaining the about us?
From the above you should be able to gather I am very proud of my children. I am also very passionate about this wonderful country of ours and to be able to share this with other people. I have spoken to many people in Perth and it is surprising the number of people who say they have not been out of the Metropolitan area of Perth.
We would love to show not only some of these people, but also any interstate visitors and overseas visitors these remarkable places. If you have read our entire website (no I don’t expect you would have :-) ) you will notice I mention quite a bit about Nature and Natural Environment etc. How can you not enjoy all this Nature?
We started with only one tour available because we wanted each tour to be a unique experience for all passengers. We wanted to make sure we had everything right before we expanded to more tours. We now have many tours available in Western Australia, but a number of "Special Tours", available including Tasmania, Tamworth, and even the AFL Grand Final. However, if you have a group of people and want to charter the bus for your own private tour, we will gladly accommodate you.
We have spent many hours discussing the name of our company and also our logo. We have all overwhelmingly agreed with our company CRIKEY ADVENTURE TOURS – hopefully signifying a bit of fun and adventure. The same goes with our bus logo – signifying a fun bus trip. (I might just add here I was saying Crikey, well before it became famous. Obviously I will be saying Crikey during the course of the tour and there is a strong chance by the end of the tour you will also say “Crikey look at that…”)
If you really want to know about us? We are the people that will provide everything for you to have a fantastic experience on your adventure tours about us, all you have to bring is a positive attitude and a sense of adventure and we will all benefit.
